this weekend
I am so excited about this upcoming weekend! I am participating at the LA Convention Center Bridal Expo. Over 4,000 brides are expected and over 200 amazing LA based vendors will show off their best work! betsey johnson
A few months ago, I had the privilege of working for Betsey Johnson to plan her grand opening at Century City. When I think of Betsey I think of fun, over the top glitz, glam, and of course PINK, PINK and more PINK!!! So, I wanted to have this grand opening be over the top FUN with lots of pink touches! We had pink champagne, pink cupcakes, a DJ, gorgeous models, I had our very own stage built for our fashion show, passed out pink goodie bags, and of course I had to design a dress made out of flowers for Betsey! transforming your space by draping
Another key component to transforming any room to look rich and sophisticated is having draping, lots and lots of draping. Below you will see some of my favorites.
Most venues might have a great space, at the perfect location, at the right price, but maybe their European walls and outdated carpet is not what you had in mind for your event. I have never seen a venue offer a decent table cover or have the right chair covers, and lets not discuss their floors. No matter what you do with your flowers or lighting, no matter how great the food or DJ, you can't hide from their ugly walls. Yes, transforming is costly but you don't have to transform the entire space. Choose the two things that will make the biggest difference. Some of the common transformations start with the table covers, chair covers, covering the ceiling, hanging chandeliers, covering walls with draping and if you have the budget even carpeting the floors (most do only the dance floor)..but don't forget LIGHTING, nothing can come alive without it!

pretty in pink
I LOVE this cake! This beautiful cake is inspired by embroidered lace strewn with floral appliques. Cake designer ron benisrael created 25 different silicone molds, including roses, dahlias, and periwinkles, pressing sugar paste into each before applying them to the fondant to create this masterpiece! What else is better than sugar and lace?... being that time of year to let pink fill your hearts! Let Valentines day, the day to celebrate love, inspire you for your special day! <3

inspiration to reality
The most important thing about your wedding is for it to be a representation of who you are. We decorate our homes to represent us, so what better place to get inspired from then your own house...
Take 3 elements that you love and let that be the theme of your event! My dream home would look very similar to the pictures you see below. So, I have taken the dark greys you see which give any room a very romantic feel, mirrors and the metallic and white accents to create my very own table setting. I absolutely love what it ended up looking like!
